Town of Groveland Announces Lane Closures During Route 113 Roadwork Project

GROVELAND — Finance and Personnel Director Denise Dembkoski would like to provide information to residents on upcoming state roadwork in town.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is conducting a $1.2 million project on Route 113, spanning from the West Newbury town line to Elm Park, which includes resurfacing and safety improvements.

Daytime lane closures for the project are expected to begin on Monday, Sept. 23, and are scheduled to continue through mid-October between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Detours may be used during certain phases of the construction operations. A single lane of traffic will be open through the work zone during daytime work hours.

In anticipation of this project, the Town of Groveland will install a new water main this weekend for the new Pentucket Regional combined middle and high school building project before MassDOT begins paving. Traffic is expected to be down to one lane on Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22.

“While this work is ongoing, we encourage drivers to make thoughtful decisions about their routes, and to anticipate that there may be delays,” Dembkoski said. “Motorists also need to take care to drive cautiously and slow down when approaching areas with active, ongoing roadwork.”
