GROVELAND —  Finance and Personnel Director Denise Dembkoski is pleased to invite residents to attend the official opening of the new playground at the Pines.

WHEN:

Saturday, Nov. 9 from 1-3:30 p.m.

WHERE:

187 Main St.

WHAT:

Local children and families are invited to enjoy the new playground this Saturday and participate in face painting, sand art, bracelet making, a bubble station, a scavenger hunt and a Touch-a-Truck event with the Groveland Police and Fire Departments.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will also be held during the opening day festivities for the new playground.

“We’re thrilled to officially open the new playground, which will provide wonderful opportunities for all of Groveland’s youngest residents to play safely outdoors,” Dembkoski said.

Funded by Community Preservation Act Funds, the new playground is compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and includes safety features for toddlers as well. The playground also includes traditional swings and four slides, and was designed to offer play space for toddlers and older children alike.

The playground area at the Pines has been temporarily closed since September while the new equipment was installed.
