GROVELAND — Groveland Town Officials are encouraging residents to vote early by mail for the upcoming Annual Town Election amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

According for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 is believed to spread between people within approximately six feet or less from one another, when a person with the virus coughs, sneezes or talks. It is possible people who are asymptomatic may also be spreading the disease, according to the CDC.

Groveland Town Officials are encouraging residents to vote early by mail for this year’s Town Election in an effort to promote the health and safety of all voters and election workers. New, special legislation allows both absentee voting and early voting by mail for this local election as a result of the COVID-19 public health crisis.

Groveland’s Annual Town Election is scheduled for Monday, June 15. The last day to register to vote for the election is on or before June 5 at 8 p.m. To register to vote, click here.

Residents can click here to download and print an application to vote early by mail, which must be either mailed to Town Clerk Elizabeth Cunniff at 183 Main St., Groveland, Massachusetts 01834 or dropped into the Town Hall drop box. All applications must be received by the Town Clerk on or before noon on Friday, June 12. Electronic signatures on applications to vote by mail will not be accepted.

For more information about voting and the upcoming election, please contact Town Clerk Elizabeth Cunniff at 978-556-7221 or¬†[email protected].
