National Night Out is a nationwide campaign designed to strengthen the relationship between public safety officials and the residents they serve in order to foster partnerships and make communities safer.
National Night Out is family-friendly and free to attend. Emergency vehicles from all three towns will be on display and available for tours at the event.
A police information center will be open to the public at the event for guests to walk through, where handouts, coloring books and stickers will be given out. Police Officers will also be available to talk with residents about their jobs, equipment and other areas of law enforcement.
Officers will be onsite to explain how to properly install a car seat and check car seats, if requested. The Groveland Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Officer, Detective Joshua Sindoni, will also be present.
The event will also feature music, games, popcorn, burgers, hot dogs and refreshments.
