Town of Groveland Joins Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
GROVELAND — Interim Financial Director Kevin Paicos, the Groveland Board of Health and Chairperson Deb Hull, Council on Aging Director Lynne Stanton, Police Chief Jeffrey Gillen, Fire Chief Robert Valentine and the Groveland Board of Selectmen are pleased to announce the Town of Groveland has joined a regional effort to offer a local COVID-19 vaccination clinic to a limited number of eligible residents.
The Town of Groveland has joined a collaborative effort with Amesbury, Newburyport, Newbury, West Newbury, Merrimac, Georgetown, Salisbury and Rowley to offer two local vaccination sites to residents of those communities eligible for the Moderna vaccine.
Beginning this weekend residents of the nine communities eligible through phase one of the state’s vaccination distribution plan will have the opportunity to be vaccinated at one of two sites. Clinics will be held at the Dr. John C. Page School in West Newbury and Amesbury High School in Amesbury. Those eligible for the vaccine include first responders, those who work in congregate care settings, home-based health care workers and health care workers providing non-COVID-facing care.
Groveland officials are actively reaching out to residents eligible for the clinic through phase one to schedule appointments. Residents may also call the Board of Health at 978-556-7210 with questions about eligibility. It is estimated approximately 100 additional vaccines will also be distributed at the clinic this weekend for residents 75-years-old and older two or more co-morbidities across the nine communities.
Council on Aging Directors across the nine communities are creating waitlists for residents 75-years-old and older with two or more comorbidities on a first come, first served basis to schedule appointments for the limited number of doses available.

The nine communities who have come together to provide the clinic are actively seeking additional doses to distribute but have not received any notice at this time that more will be provided by the state. However, officials in the towns are hopeful future clinics will be possible. Information about any future clinics will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
Residents are advised to continue seeking out alternate vaccination appointments, however, should they be able to find a location where they can obtain an appointment. Eligible residents can visit the state’s website to check appointment availability at vaccination sites near them by following these instructions:
To make an appointment at a vaccination site:
- Visit mass.gov/COVID-vaccine to find your phase and priority group
- If you’re eligible, visit mass.gov/COVIDVaccineMap to find a vaccine clinic near you
- Make an appointment online and fill out the attestation form
Residents are also encouraged to check in with local pharmacies and their primary care provider to learn more about potential avenues for vaccination.

CodeRED and Emergency Alerts
Groveland town officials encourage residents to create an account to receive CodeRED alerts, which the town uses to disperse information regarding emergencies and critical community efforts. The latest updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination opportunities will be shared through the town’s CodeRED notification system, and the alerts system is also used to provide updates in the event of severe weather events, flooding, evacuation notices and other time sensitive updates.
